The Big Daddy Chromite Deposit is a stratiform, magmatic massive chromite deposit similar in setting, form and mineralogy to those being mined elsewhere in the world such as Bushveld (South Africa), Great Dyke (Zimbabwe), Sukinda (Orissa, India), Kemi (Finland) and Ipuera (Brazil).
Drill defined resource are currently 23.2 million tonnes at a grade of 40.66 Cr2O3 in the indicated category. There are an additional 16.3 million tonnes at 39.09% Cr2O3 in the inferred category. The Cr:Fe ratio is 2. The results for preliminary metallurgical test work suggests that minimal upgrading of the massive chromite will be required to produce a suitable product for the metallurgical grade market.
